Your PPA partnerIf you are producing renewable energy and need a route to market, you’re in the right place. We understand the complexities of renewable projects whether we are dealing with the old AER (Alternative Energy Requirement), or REFITs (Renewable Energy Feed in Tariff). Whether you want to sell your renewable power into the grid or supply a specific user, talk to us.
Four Ways We Can Help Renewable Generators
We are experienced in putting in place Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in a number of territories and renewable technologies including onshore wind, landfill gas, biomass, hydro and solar.
Naturgy is one of a small number of licensed power suppliers that will enter into a PPA. Our industry expertise and local knowledge, competitive terms and innovative
approach mean that we are the ideal PPA partner for renewable generators.
What is a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement)?
A Power Purchase Agreement is a contract between two parties, one that generates electricity (the seller) and one that is looking to purchase electricity (the buyer).
Any renewable generator looking to benefit from the Irish government REFIT subsidy scheme needs to have a PPA with a licensed supplier.
PPAs are a critical component of a successful renewable project because they provide a guaranteed income stream for the generator over an extended duration –
contracts typically cover up to 15 years.
If, as a generator, you have your own power supply company, let us take the strain of managing the complexities of the energy supply side. We call this our Supplier Lite service. With 13 years’ experience as an energy supplier, we have the systems in place to handle, on behalf of the project owner, the complexities of administering and selling electricity via a PPA.
Naturgy pairs you, the energy generator, with a specific Large Energy User. The energy you generate is used exclusively by that Large Energy User.
If you are seeking a PPA, please contact Ross McConnell at + 353 1 884 9400 or download our PPA questionnaire and send the completed document to Ross.McConnell@naturgy.ie.
Some large energy users (LEUs) install an energy generation facility at the same physical location as their demand. We can partner you with a large energy user to fulfil this service for them. Any energy you produce over and above the power requirements of the LEU will go into the national grid. Naturgy provides an attractive solution via a monthly invoice to facilitate both the supply of electricity required from the grid and also payment for the times the generator exports excess power to the grid.
