Cemex
Since it was founded in 1965, CEMEX has become
a household name in Ireland, manufacturing and supplying pre-mix concrete, aggregates, pre-cast pipes, tiles and blocks. It’s one of Ireland’s biggest building materials groups, with a large number of processing plants nationally.
Vayu was delighted to be awarded the electricity supply contract for the company in 2012.
The Issue
Cemex Ireland needed the capability to produce customised reports to analyse, compare and monitor their 30 individual centres of operation, with the ultimate aim of reducing costs across all sites. This would require a deep understanding of the electricity market, gained from an energy supplier who would appreciate Cemex’s challenges and needs, and could offer a complete service beyond the supply of energy itself, including training and support.Vayu’s Solution
Vayu’s core review of the Cemex sites identified savings of €25,000 on five key sites, and we were also able to flag immediate savings of €15,000 on one site by optimising Cemex’s MIC or Maximum Import Capacity.
Solution features:
• Individualised reports for all sites, to monitor monthly energy spend
• Site report league table, allowing comparative analysis and reduced spend
• Ongoing active management of Cemex sites de-energisation, across network, to prevent unwanted costs.
